I moved in to a new location, my first acquaintances are unbelievers. They really like me and want me to become their friends, what are the best ways for me to establish my influence in order not get sucked-in (influenced) into this new new environment?

I am the in-thing. I should be the one setting the pace (in what is being said, in dressing, in relationship, etc) and being the example others follow.
